It was never rebuilt so the land was converted into a cemetery. In the 1940's or early 50's, Gerald Bruner took over the Reuben Bruner property (the original home place.) Since the Bruner cemetery beside it was in bad condition from neglect, with stones down and broken, he notified relatives of the deceased to move the graves to the newer, well-maintained Baptist Cemetery close by. The story goes that nothing would ever grow on the old cemetery land, through report of 2 other owners, and it was considered cursed."
